More monkey business
This week we visited ´Brazil´s most beautiful beach´ called Lopez Mendez, on the island Isla Grande. You have to take a boat there from the main part of the island and it is like taking part in a holiday programme. The boat looks like a sailing boat, Brazilian music is playing loud and all the ladies are sitting around in bikinis (I didn´t notice myself, but Martine mentioned it later in the day). Anyway, back to the story, Martine went for a call of nature in the trees and was met by some little friends who were wondering what she was up to. Standing at about 20cm plus a stripy black and white tail, they look at you just as you are looking at them, as if they are asking themselves: Why this funny looking creature with white skin and no fur is peeing in my garden. Why does she look scared when I´m only 20cm tall and she stands at 1.65m? Why is her even bigger friend reaching for a shiny square thing that flashes light? Why is he white and red?´ Martine was very brave though while a group of monkeys formed around her. She didn´t move once as they came closer and closer. Yes she is very brave indeed and was not stuck to the spot due to being in the middle of the call of nature, or marking her territory as you might call it...
